Feather Maned Dragon Krita Reference - CC BY 4.0

Lacertocyon plumocrista (feather crested lizard dog), also known as maned dragon, is a fictional mammalian species that evolved from Eutherians before the K-Pg (big meteorite that oofed dinosaurs) event. This art is an anthropomorphic interpretation of the species.

Feather maned dragons take inspiration from maned wolves and komodo dragons.
Therefore, this isn't an actual dragon in a mythological sense.

The art and downloadable files are licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International.
CC BY 4.0 allows you to modify and share even commercially as long as you credit me (Kaelygon).
For example the credit can be watermark in the art, mention or link in same post when you share it.

This is just my vision of the species. You are, of course, allowed to create your own headcanons and even create a new species genus under the Lacertheridae family.

You are not required to credit if you create your own unique character or art of the same species, L. plumocrista, but I always appreciate it if you do!


I plan to develop the species further and later provide a full body base.
Eventually I want to make the species into a VRChat 3D model.

Photoshop users:
If you really don't want to use Krita, a PSD file is included, but it will most likely have wrong layer settings due to conversion.
Layer names will have listed what layer filter or effect should be used.

For example, the folder Feathers-PassThrough should act like the grouped layers are a level higher.
iris-InheritAlpha layer, should use alpha of the layers that are below it in that group.
Layer Foreground/Sketch/Feathers-PassThrough/Erase should "erase" anything below it in folder Sketch. If PS doesn't have this feature, it works a bit like an inverted alpha cutout mask.
